What I learned about Journalism through this process: What this process taught me about journalism is the ability of narrative to connect disparate viewpoints and humanize problems, the changing function of digital tools in telling real, heartfelt stories and difficulties in distilling intricate ideas into a brief video narrative. Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of journalism that goes beyond simply reporting facts to include stories that inspire, connect, and highlight universal human values. I discovered how journalism can act as a bridge to empathy and social cohesion by documenting genuine voices and lives that are centered on kindness. I was able to personally witness the difficulty and obligation of creating a succinct, genuine story that respects the complexity of the human experience in a matter of minutes by using digital storytelling tools.
